Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Wound‑FX® Torso and what fake wounds for first aid training does it have?
The Wound‑FX® Torso is a highly realistic training model with a range of simulated trauma wounds, such as amputations, deep lacerations, open fractures, and bleeding sites, which makes it an excellent option for first aid, medical, and emergency response training. Unlike stick‑on latex wounds, this torso has inbuilt fake cuts and wounds for first aid training that resist wear and tear after many training sessions.
Can I use the Wound‑FX® Torso to practice wound packing and tourniquet application?
This wound's torso has wounds and cuts for practising packing, bandage dressing and limbs for tourniquet techniques correctly. The anatomical structure allows trainees to familiarise themselves with certain pressure points, bandaging layers, and realistic pressure application .
Is colour transfer or staining an issue with training clothing?
The torso uses deep red fake blood and silicone based wounds that could stain light coloured clothing or absorb into certain fabrics. We advise using protective clothing and gloves during training to prevent any stains.
Which first aid kits should I use alongside the torso for complete training?
Pairing the torso with a first aid training pack helps trainees to engage in highly realistic emergency response. As well as this, a training tourniquet can be a valuable asset in training.
